*Neurosis 2.1 by Stan Arts Configurationfile.
*
*Set the amount of memory Neurosis can use, set : ht N where N is any number
*between 4 and 64 representing memorysize in MB. For example : ht 16
*Bigger values then 64, or smaller values then 4 will be set to 64 or 4. Values
*do not have to be a power of 2, so for example, values of 7 or 23 will work too.
ht 128

*Turn on log to let Neurosis save it's thinking to a textfile neurosis.log
*log 0 = log off, and with: log 1 you turn log on. Existing neurosis.log files
*will be overwritten at each startup.
log 1

*Put Neurosis in solve-mode by setting: sol 1 sol 0 is off/normal mode.
*In solve-mode Neurosis will look at everything (brute force) , and find every
*tactic upto the depth it searches, but search slower. (And play weaker.)
sol 0

*You can let Neurosis behave more human-alike by setting the option : hum 1
*This way it will mainly use it's time more realistic, for example when a move
*can be played from openingbook, or when there is only one legal move, it will
*not play instantly, but wait with a random delay of several seconds. Also vary
*it's time a little more. hum 1 is on, hum 0 is off. Neurosis will play
*strongest with this option off.
hum 0

*Make Neurosis play more speculative and agressive by setting the option :
*spe 1 or spe 2 . This increases positional importance relative to the
*material values, and might sacrifice material to get a positional advantage. This
*will sometimes lead to more interesting play. The options are 0=normal 1=risky
*2=super speculative. Neurosis will usually play strongest with spe 0 .
spe 0

*You can limit the calculatingspeed of Neurosis, by setting: slw 1, slw 2, slw 3.
*Setting slw 1 will limit Neurosis to about 5000 nodes per second, and this will
*make it play weaker. Estimated to about 1600-2100 Elo.
*Setting slw 2 will limit Neurosis even more, to about 500 nodes per second and
*estimated to a strength around 1200-1600 Elo.
*With slw 3 Neurosis will search at the same speed as slw 2, but limit search and
*knowledge in many ways, further weakening Neurosis, estimated to below 1200 Elo.
*Try combining this option with the speculative option and human-like option, to
*create an interesting opponent to play and practise with. Normal mode is: slw 0 ,
*and Neurosis then will run as fast as possible and play strongest.
slw 0

*Make Neurosis vary it's moves in similair positions a bit more by letting it
*use small random values when calculating moves. To turn this on : var 1
*Normal mode/off is : var 0 . When you enable this option, small positional
*differences between moves might get lost, and so Neurosis will play strongest
*with this option turned off.
var 0

*When you set this option Neurosis will resign when the score for Neurosis at
*the end of calculating a move is worse then the value set. rsn 0 is off.
*Minimum value for resign is 5 pawns behind. A value lower then 5 will turn
*resign off. Maximum value is 99. A higher value will turn resign off.
*Example: rsn 8 will cause Neurosis to give up when it thinks it is 8 pawns or
*worse behind. It will not resign when a move was calculated to less then 6
*whole ply. Neurosis will play strongest with this option turned off.
rsn 0

*Make Neurosis like or avoid draws a bit by setting a contemptfactor. Negative
*values will make Neurosis harder to draw, it won't play for a draw unless he is
*worse then the score given. With positive values he will easely settle for a
*draw. (Values here given in centipawns) Settings are: 1= -10 2= -20 3= -50
*4= 10 5= 20 6= 50 . 0 = 0/contempt off. For example ctf 3 will set
*Neurosis to avoid draw unless he is worse then 50 centipawns. Neurosis will play
*neutral and strongest with this option turned off.
ctf 0

*Make Neurosis send a kibitz command after it plays a move. This is only usefull
*when Neurosis plays on an internet chess-server. It will send it's searchdata in
*such way that it's visible to the other player and people observing the game.
*kib 0 is off. With kib 1 Neurosis sends it's searchstatistics, but not the
*principal variation (best line of moves) , which could help the opponent.
*With kib 2 it also sends it's principal variation.
kib 0

*Videomode for Neurosis3D. The default, vid 0 , gives a resolution of 800x600.
* vid 1 sets a resolution of 1024x768.
